The Service Station Restaurant

Phil and Jerry Crewson were the original owners. At the time they also owned and operated Crosby’s across the street. They had purchased the defunct Conoco station a few years before as a place to store their excess antiques (another enterprise of theirs). Those boys stayed busy all the time I guess. Anyway Crosby’s was doing well so they decided to open another one and they called it “The Service Station”. Not the most original, but hey, it worked. In 2001 Jeff Crabtree, Kenton and Betty Johnson purchased the Service Station. The menu has gradually grown more and more diverse over the decades. The original menu consisted of 4 or 5 hamburgers, a couple of chicken sandwiches, and a steak. It now is over 4 pages with a little bit of everything. After almost 4 decades, the clientele is still extremely loyal and working on a third generation. Lots of people compare it to the fictional “Cheers” from the 80s T.V. show. The Service Station is definitely a place where “Everyone Knows your name”.
