Nestled in the northwest corner of Oklahoma City is the 1,000-acre Stinchcomb Wildlife Refuge, a serene haven perfect for bird watching, hiking, biking and fishing. The wildlife refuge is surrounded by a hardwood forest of oak and sycamore trees.

The area is also popular for kayaks and canoes, which travel on the North Canadian River/Oklahoma River through the entire wildlife refuge. The Stinchcomb Wildlife Refuge is bordered on the south by Lake Overholser.
